Large parts of Delhi with no or little water | Delhi News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The water crisis continues to plague Delhi. Because of the depleted raw water supply, many parts of the city, including northeast, west, north, central, south, Delhi Cantonment and New Delhi Municipal Council areas, received little to no water supply on Monday.
“In the last four days, the situation has become worse. Water is supplied for half an hour at any random time during the day and that, too, extremely dirty. Three blocks in our area have not received any water supply in the last four days,” said Sanjay Gupta, vice-president, Model Town residents’ welfare association.
Delhi Jal Board had earlier issued an alert that several of its water treatment plants are unable to produce enough water and that the water supply is going to be low. The government also said that the supply would continue to remain affected until sufficient water is released by Haryana.
A reality check by TOI revealed that the customer care number was very busy and after the initial computerised voice message, there was no further response. Four other landline numbers provided on the website of DJB, too, had long waiting times.
